Kevin Falcon – background

British Columbia’s former Deputy Premier and Minister of Finance, Kevin Falcon, joined Anthem Properties as Executive Vice President effective May 16, 2013. In his capacity as Executive Vice-President, Falcon plays a leadership role in the oversight and growth of Anthem Capital’s business portfolio. Falcon will also liaise with Anthem’s financial partners and assist related companies, including Anthem Properties Group, in raising equity funds from institutional and individual investors.

Mr. Falcon served for twelve years in various senior cabinet positions in the BC government. As Minister of State for Deregulation, Falcon led the successful effort to reduce unnecessary red tape by more than 40% in his government’s first mandate. He further served for six years as Minister of Transportation and Infrastructure, overseeing the largest transportation capital program in BC’s history, including the Sea to Sky Highway upgrade, construction of the Canada Line, the William Bennett Bridge and the Port Mann Bridge.

As Minister of Health, Falcon led initiatives to improve productivity in the public health care system, such as Patient Focused Funding, supply chain consolidation amongst Health Authorities and other measures which demonstrated governments’ ability to bend down the cost curve in health. While Minister of Finance, Falcon led a substantial capital markets outreach effort to promote British Columbia’s financial strengths amidst great global uncertainty. His financial stewardship received broad financial market support and resulted in re-affirmation of the Province’s AAA credit rating.
