Ottewell strip mall sold to Vancouver company

EDMONTON – Edmonton’s Ottewell Plaza Shopping Centre has been purchased by Vancouver-based Anthem Properties.

No terms were disclosed in an announcement Wednesday.

The company said it is expanding quickly in Edmonton, with the mall being its third acquisition in the market in the last two years.

The 56,400-square-foot neighbourhood strip mall at 61st Street and 90th Avenue in southeast
Edmonton is anchored by an IGA food store, Scotiabank, a drugstore and the Ottewell Liquor Store. A dry-cleaning business and two unoccupied storefronts in the mall were damaged by fire in March.
Last year, Anthem bought the Millwoods Mainstreet Shopping Centre. Its portfolio also includes North Town Centre and the site of the former Molson Brewery.
